Passport Applications
Passports may soon be required for all air, sea and
land travel to or from Canada, Mexico, Central & South America, the Caribbean,
and Bermuda. Applications for passports can now be submitted in the County
Recorders Office in many Iowa counties.
What is needed to get a
passport?
- The passport application
is available online at
www.travel.state.gov/passport.
- A certified copy of your
birth certificate available from the county/state in which you were born.
- TWO 2 x 2 passport photos
available from local vendors.
- Current photo ID, drivers
license or other government issued ID.
- Payment in two
checks: $25.00 payable to the County Recorder
- The Passport for an adult (16 and over) is $110.00 + $25.00. A Passport for age 15 and under is $80.00 + $25.00.
A Passport Card for an adult (16 and over) is $30.00 +$25.00. Age 15 and under, it is $15.00 + $25.00. As passport card is only good for travel by land and sea travel between the US and Canada, Mexico, Bermuda, and the Caribbean.
