Passport Applications

A Passport is an internationally recognized travel document that verifies the identity and nationality of the bearer. A valid U.S. passport is required to enter and leave most foreign countries, including Mexico and Canada. Many County Recorder Office's are Passport Acceptance Facilities and can assist you with the application process. Call your County Recorder for times and availability. Passports may soon be required for all air, sea and land travel to or from Canada, Mexico, Central & South America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda.  Applications for passports can now be submitted in the County Recorders Office in many Iowa counties.
